Thieving Enemy: Stealing like you would not believe.
A thieving enemy is stealing right in front of you
The father of “flim-flam” is a thieving enemy who goes about trying to take what should be ours. He comes offering something to trade, illusions. There are lots of hands helping him, so the packaging looks different. Boasting of their worthiness, this surefire way to God, they will tell you what you want to hear. They will be a perfect fit. “No need for you to change a thing.” Well, I’m here to say, “Don’t trade! You would be receiving stolen goods.” Satan didn’t have the copyright. But things like that never bother him. Besides, his copies won’t be built quite the same . He can’t provide life. “Hush! Because the lost need not know that they will be missing that important part,” says this thieving enemy.
A thieving enemy is a counterfeiter.
When given our choice, most folks would like to live in a “lovey-dove” world. They look for a world where people respected each other, cared for the earth, fed the poor, eliminated all disease and created wonderful things. In the words of beauty queens, “World Peace!” Surely that is not a bad thing and someday it will come, but it will never come by listening to Satan’s salesmen. Shall I name the names of men and religions? Would you be insulted? “Think the right way.” “Breath the right way.” “Eat the right way.” “Exercise the right way.” “Believe the right people.” Well, from my point of view it has never happened and won’t without “the missing part.”
The missing part is found in God’s gift.
The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23) Abundant life is only found in Jesus who is “the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14:6) It is only by the Holy Spirit, sent from the Father, that we can realize a holy life. Therefore, all other so-called paths to God are counterfeits. They are without the Spirit of God. Without life. Satan’s deceit is food without nourishment that will starve the soul. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance:” (the ability to abstain from evil) (Galatians 5:22-23)
Salvation is a simple thing when eyes are opened and a heart is seeking truth. Jesus will not wait when asked to come in. He will sup with all who would leave devil’s tables and come to His. Faith, forgiveness and life are His gifts that must to be received. Don’t trade away the chance to know God’s Christ, the living Savior.
