Satan’s favorite verses are twisted to deceive.
Exposing Satan’s favorite verses.
Do you know Satan’s favorite verses? They are used to silence Christians and in doing so prevent light. Yes, God’s light can be darkened when deceit is used to muffle our voices. God’s truth is God’s light, and it is meant to be refracted through our lives. So, it is wise to understand how Satan twists God’s words. This post is written to expose Satan’s method of silencing the children of God .
As it was in the garden so it is today. God’s words are twisted to serve Satan’s purpose. His favorites verses are found in Matthew 7:1-5. You have heard them tens if not hundreds of times. “Judge not, so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, “Let me take the speck out of your eye, and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Discerning the Truth
How many times have these verses been used to silence you from speaking the truth? Perhaps they were used correctly as you judged “the servant of another,” (Romans 14:4) but they are more often used to prevent God’s truth from being heard. When we have removed the log of critical judgement we “do not judge according to appearance, but with righteous judgement.” (John 7:24) Guided by God’s Spirit and in the light of Jesus’ words we are called to become the “sons of Light” (John 12:36) in this dark and evil world.
Repeating Old Christian News.
Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12) There are people who are held captive by spiritual forces in this dark age. Our job is to speak the truth. People will receive it, or they will reject the light of Christ because their deeds are evil. (John 3:19-20) They choose sin while rejecting and accusing you of judging them. Without Christ they are already condemned. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe in Him is condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:18)
Remember Jesus’ words when He said, “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent me.” (Matthew 10:40) The prophets spoke the truth warning of judgement. Jesus spoke the truth and was rejected by His own people. (John 1:11) Stephen spoke the truth and was martyred. (Acts 7) John and Peter were commanded not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. They refused and were eventually executed. (Acts 4) Calvin spoke the truth to the Roman Catholic Church and was excommunicated. In light of this, it is a small thing to be ridiculed for speaking light into darkness.
Remember that “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they malign the members of his household.” (Matthew 10:24-25) Consider prayerfully what Matthew 7:1-5 is stating. If you do, these words will never be used again as Satan’s favorite verses to silence you. Reveal God’s light so that the blind will see and the deaf hear the warnings of Satan’s enticements and deceptions. Pray for those exposed to the light of Christ in you. May they see, hear and receive the gift of God, man’s only savior Jesus, the Son of God.
